مدخل الى مقدمة القصيدة الشهيرة – تبعات قانون البرلمان البريطاني الذي عرف فيما بعد بقانون اليزابيث للفقراء - توزيع النظام الاقطاعي - كانت عقوبة المتسول الفقير الضرب وربما الى الشنق في السحن. عملت على فرض ضريبة اجبارية للتخفيف من الفقر والفقراء.. عندما زادت اعداد المتسولين في شوارع بريطانيا قيلت تلك القصيدة التي استخدمت لاحقا في الحرب العالمية الاولي كتعبير ساخر.

restrained her sister, Austria. French, mindful of his last defeat (in the
Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871.) Scrutinizes his weapon. Germany, of course,
interested in his movements, and kept in readiness for any emergency
UK and Ireland eagerly watching the fight - ready at
any time to prevent Russia invaded the Turkish waters or the Suez Canal. Spain
has so needed a rest. Italy ruthlessly making a toy from the Pope and the King
of Belgium takes care of its treasures. In Denmark, a small flag, but it is the
cause proud
